The Blog and me

My Five minute of fame as a torch-bearer: 2016 Olympics

About me

My name is Jackson dos Santos Lima, Jackson Lima, for short, I live in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. By profession I am a journalist and author. When I was younger I worked as a tour guide in the Three Frontier Area of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay taking people to the world-top famous Iguassu Falls in Southern Brazil.

I have also been a guide in the Three Frontier Area of Brazil, Colombia and Peru all the way up the Amazon River from Manaus or Belém. My guiding work also took me to the Pantanal not far from the Bolivian and Paraguayan Border in the pantanal areas known as the Miranda, Nhecolândia and Nabileque Pantanals.

This blog

Why things Brazilian and not Brazilian Things? A Brazilian Thing is just anything. A house, a car, a book that happens to be in Brazil. By choosing Things Brazilian, I have in mind things that if not only exists in Brazil they certainly have been reinterpreted in Brazil, renovated in Brazil, organized or reorganized in Brazil.  This covers areas like religion, food and cooking, places with a character of there own, geography and nature, the Portuguese language, the native languages of which there are over 170.
